Van Leeuwenhoek's Plaque
I’ve started working with composer Steven Gellatly, who usually composes scores for silent films. Steve’s been setting to music (and improvising accompaniment for) some of my poetry and prose (written with my twin, Beth McFarland). We recorded this piece, Van Leeuwenhoek’s plaque, at St Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, Dundee in June 2023.

Recent Release from No Trees to Whisper Project...
I throughly enjoyed writing a sequence of poems commissioned by Turning the Elements for this project and some of them were set into a composition by Aidan O'Rourke, titled Ochan...performed by Frances Cooper and Joanna Nicholson, you can listen to the whole song sequence here...
My poems were based on members of my family, envisioned as types of tree...my father, mother, sister are represented, and a neighbour too...it's great to hear them arranged and performed in such a mesmerising way. The project was funded by Creative Scotland.
